Alone By Edgar Allen Poe
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were-I have not seen
As others saw-I could bring
My passions from a common spring-
From the same source I have not taken
My sarrow-I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone
All I lov'd -I lov'd alone
Then in my childhood-in the dawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mistery which binds me still
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff on the mountain
From the sun that round me roll'd
In it's autum tint of gold
From lightning in the sky
As it passedme flying by
From the thunder, and a storm
And the cloud that took the form
(Wehn the rest of heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view
The untold truths
of wisdom lie
Soley in the beating
of the heart of an
ill-treated child
whose wounds awill
heal and heart will seal,
but my memory will never die.
Have you ever lived my life?
Spent one minute in my shoes?
If not then tell me why
you judge me the way you do.
Have you ever woken up in the morning,
wondering if this was your last day on earth?
Have you ever left your house
unsure that you'd return?
Have you ever seen your friend get shot
outside his favorite store?
Have you ever seen your friend die
from drugs he'd never used before?
Have you ever seen your mom gest beet up
by your step dad, messed up on booze?
Have you ever had an unwanted pregnancy
forcing you to choose?
Have you ever sat beneath the stars
hoping god will hear?
Have you ever seen you friend drive away
after having too many beers?
Have you ever had a friend
experiment wiht weed?
Have you ever covered up with guil
by doing a good deed?
Have you ever considered suicide
as the only way?
Havse you ever ride to hile yourself
behind the things you say?
Have you everfelt such pain
That you cried yourself to sleep?
Have you ever lived my life
spent one minute in my shoes?
If you haven't,then tell me why
you judge me as you do?
My Name: Is Meth
I destroy homes, I tear families apart,
Take your children, and thats just the start.
Im more costly than diamonds, more precious than gold,
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.
If you need me, remember Im easily found,
I live all around you in schools and in town
I live with the rich; I live with the poor,
I live down the street, and maybe next door.
Im made in a lab, but not like you think,
I can be made under the kitchen sink.
In your childs closet, and even in the woods,
If this scares you to death, well it certainly should.
I have many names, but theres one you know best,
Im sure youve heard of me, my name is Crystal Meth.
My power is awesome; try me youll see,
But if you do, you may never break free.
Just try me once and I might let you go,
But try me twice, and Ill own your soul.
When I possess you, youll steal and youll lie,
You do what you have to just to get high.
The crimes youll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasure youll feel in your arms,
Your lungs and your nose. Youll lie to your mother;
Youll steal from your dad, When you see their
Tears, you should feel sad.
But youll forget your morals and how you
Were raised, Ill be your conscience, Ill teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God, and separate friends.
Ill take everything from you, your looks and your
Pride, Ill be with you always right be your side.
Youll give up everything your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then youll be alone.
Ill take and take, till you have nothing more to give,
When Im finished with you, youll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned this is no game,
If given the chance, Ill drive you insane.
Ill ravish your body, Ill control your mind,
Ill own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares Ill give you while lying in bed,
The voices youll hear, from inside your head.
The sweats, the shakes, the visions youll see,
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me.
But then its too late, and youll know in your heart,
That you are mine, and we shall not part.
Youll regret that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.
You could have said no, and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?
Ill be your master, you will be my slave,
Ill ever go with you, when you go to your grave.
Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? Its all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell,
Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell.
